New Season of Employer Meetings at GTU

A new season of employer meetings for the 2026/2027 academic year has launched at Georgian Technical University as part of the “Your Career Starts at GTU” project. Organized by the Career Development Unit of the University’s Academic Process Management Service, the event brought together first-year students from the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems and members of the “McDonald’s Georgia” human resources team to discuss employment opportunities at the company.

The first-year students learned firsthand how to launch a successful career at one of the country’s largest companies while simultaneously pursuing their studies.

Students met with Professor Taliko Zhvania, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems; Professor Lili Petriashvili, Deputy Dean; and Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, Head of the Career Development Department. Representing the company, Natia Kelaptrishvili from the HR team spoke to the students about youth-oriented employment schemes, flexible offers, and the mutual benefits of working at “McDonald’s Georgia”.

A company representative gave first-year students a comprehensive overview of the organization’s internal culture, career progression paths, and the benefits the brand offers its team. She emphasized the company’s significant investment in developing and training young talent. Students received detailed information regarding job vacancies, the recruitment process, and the benefits packages available to employees. Natia Kelaptrishvili noted that for many successful professionals, “McDonald’s” was the first step that gave them solid practical experience.

According to Head of the GTU Career Development Department, Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, Georgian Technical University is interested in “McDonald’s Georgia” because the company offers students a flexible work schedule that fully fits their university studies.

“We are launching a new season of meetings with employers for the 2026–2027 academic year with great enthusiasm as part of the university project “Employment Alongside Studies”. Our primary goal is to help students find jobs that align with their preferences and needs, giving them valuable practical experience. This time, we hosted representatives from “McDonald’s Georgia” for a meeting with first-year students from the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems. We targeted first-year students for this initiative because the company offers work schedules tailored to their needs, including shifts of just a few hours. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for students to take their first steps toward a career while successfully pursuing their studies”.

The second part of the meeting was an interactive Q&A, with students asking questions about compensation, scheduling, and future career prospects. Members of the “McDonald’s Georgia” HR team answered each question thoroughly and shared practical advice with the young attendees. At the end of the event, the guests presented the first-year students with symbolic gifts on behalf of the company and expressed readiness to collaborate in the future.
