Held An Information Meeting With Schoolchildren At GTU
The Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems at the Georgian Technical University, Professor Taliko Zhvania, along with administration representatives and the students, met with the school students and teachers of Tbilisi Public Schools No. 86 and No. 52.
Within the framework of the meeting, the guests toured the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, becoming acquainted with the modern learning environment and infrastructure, and received detailed information about the existing educational programs.
According to the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, students had the opportunity to meet the academic staff, receive answers to questions of their interest, and learn more about the prospects of studying at the university. According to Professor Taliko Zhvania, such meetings aim to provide professional orientation to applicants and raise awareness about higher education.
“Our faculty offers students educational programs that fully meet the rapidly changing requirements of the modern technological world. The learning process is not limited to the transfer of theoretical knowledge – it is especially important for us that students effectively apply the knowledge they have gained in practice. That is why they are actively involved in practical projects, work on innovative ideas, get acquainted with the latest technologies, and acquire the critical and professional skills that are necessary for a successful career in both the local and international markets. We had a conversation with schoolchildren about these and other important issues. The high interest, involvement, and motivation expressed by them give us reason to believe that the future generation is already thoughtfully approaching the choice of profession and is ready to take important steps in their development.
Such meetings play a vital role by allowing schoolchildren to experience the university environment firsthand, become familiar with the educational process, and make more informed decisions about their future professions. We prioritize guiding young people in the right direction and helping them discover their interests. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our partners Karina Giorgadze, physics teacher at Tbilisi Public School No. 60, and Shorena Khorava, mathematics teacher at Tbilisi Public School No. 52, for their dedicated collaboration. It is through such joint efforts that we can better connect with the next generation and support them in making the best choices for their future.
– Professor Taliko Zhvania
For information, 73 years ago, in 1953, at the initiative of Professor Nikoloz Gabashvili, a new department – “Automation of Industrial Processes” was opened at the Georgian Polytechnic Institute, and since then, the Georgian Technical University has been a flagship in the field of information technologies.
