Strategic Partnership Between GTU and the Official Representative of Carl Zeiss, AMK Management
The Georgian Technical University and AMK Management, the official representative of the global scientific technology company Carl Zeiss, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The agreement marks the beginning of long-term strategic cooperation that will create new opportunities for strengthening the country’s educational and research ecosystem.
As part of the partnership, AMK Management donated a state-of-the-art Carl Zeiss scientific microscope equipped with a digital camera to the Georgian Technical University. The advanced system will significantly enhance the university’s educational and research infrastructure.
According to Professor Tamar Lominadze, Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, the microscope is specifically designed for advanced materials science analysis and will enable researchers to perform highly accurate investigations of complex material structures, conduct both fundamental and applied research in accordance with international standards, and strengthen the practical training of students and young researchers.
As Professor Tamar Lominadze states, modern scientific equipment will significantly develop the university’s research potential and promote the involvement of students and doctoral candidates in innovative research.
“Partnerships of this kind are particularly important at a time when the advancement of science and higher education depends on access to cutting-edge technologies and international collaboration. The strategic partnership between the Georgian Technical University and AMK Management, the official representative of Carl Zeiss, represents an important step toward strengthening the university’s research capacity, enhancing its scientific infrastructure, and aligning it with international standards.
The state-of-the-art Carl Zeiss scientific microscope will significantly expand our research capabilities in materials science, enable high-precision experimentation, and support both fundamental and applied research. Equally important is that our students, doctoral candidates, and young researchers will gain hands-on experience with technologies currently used in the world’s leading scientific laboratories. We are confident that this partnership will serve as the foundation for numerous joint scientific and educational initiatives and will make a significant contribution to the development of both the university’s and the country’s scientific potential”.
– Professor Tamar Lominadze
During the memorandum signing ceremony, the parties emphasized that the partnership will also include: the implementation of joint scientific research projects; the exchange of professional knowledge and expertise; professional development opportunities for specialists; the organization of training programs, seminars, and workshops; and the introduction of innovative technologies into the educational process. The partnership with AMK Management, the official representative of Carl Zeiss in Georgia, represents an important step toward the internationalization, the expansion of its research capabilities, and the modernization of its scientific infrastructure. It is expected to create new opportunities for students, doctoral candidates, and young scientists.
