Faculty of Business Technologies Celebrates Foundation Day with Charity Event
The Faculty of Business Technologies of the Georgian Technical University celebrated its foundation day with a charity event. As part of the activities dedicated to “Faculty Day,” the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Rusudan Kutateladze, Manager Avtandil Adeishvili, professors, and students visited the shelter at the Dzegvi St. George Mtatsmindeli Nun’s Monastery to demonstrate their social responsibility and support charitable initiatives.
The purpose of the visit was to support the shelter’s beneficiaries, provide them with essential items and food products, and promote a culture of social responsibility, cooperation, and charity among students.
According to the Faculty of Business Technologies Dean, such activities play an important role in fostering humanistic values, civic awareness, and social responsibility among the youth. Professor Rusudan Kutateladze noted that, on behalf of the initiator and supporter of the charity event — the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze — gift packages were presented to the families living in the shelter.
“With the initiative and support of the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, the Faculty of Business Technologies gifted 80 beneficiaries, including 23 children living in the Dzegvi shelter, a special and warm day. During the visit, we donated essential household items to the shelter, including a refrigerator, as well as various food products and basic necessities. This university event demonstrates our commitment to supporting and standing in solidarity with individuals who require special attention and care. With the backing of the Rector, the university has launched several significant projects focused on encouraging youth participation in public life, fostering a culture of volunteerism, and strengthening social cohesion. It is important to highlight that this is not the first charitable initiative undertaken by our faculty. Thanks to the ongoing collaboration between the Rector and university administration, a meaningful tradition has been established over the years, enabling the Faculty of Business Technologies to conduct a variety of social and charitable activities.
Today’s event is especially meaningful because it is being held as part of the celebrations dedicated to Faculty Day. The Faculty of Business Technologies is now 10 years old, and during this period, we have achieved significant success in both educational and public activities. The faculty’s ten-year development path has been associated with strengthening educational programs, developing a modern learning environment and infrastructure, supporting students, and offering them diverse opportunities. Over the years, the faculty has succeeded in creating a strong academic and scientific environment where, alongside the acquisition of knowledge, special attention is paid to teaching and learning methodologies based on national values, as well as advanced international experience and practice.
It is essential for us that the celebration of the faculty’s anniversary extends beyond educational and scientific events alone. We also want this occasion to be connected with kindness, empathy, and support for others. We believe that the faculty’s ten-year history is measured not only by academic achievements, but also by the values we have developed and strengthened throughout these years.”
– Professor Rusudan Kutateladze
“Faculty Day” at the Georgian Technical University was established in 2022 on the initiative of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, and by the decision of the Academic Council. Since then, the faculties of GTU have celebrated their founding dates at different times throughout the year.
