AI Hackathon – “BrainHack-AI 2026” Held at the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems

The Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems of the Georgian Technical University hosted the large-scale artificial intelligence hackathon “BrainHack-AI 2026.” Teams and individual participants from Georgian universities competed in an intense, dynamic, and engaging eight-hour marathon. During the hackathon, participants solved AI tasks based on real-world problems, presented innovative ideas, and demonstrated their technical expertise, creativity, and teamwork skills.

Students from Kutaisi International University (KIU), Georgian American University (GAU), Business and Technology University (BTU), Caucasus International University (CIU), and International Black Sea University (IBSU) joined participants from the Georgian Technical University in “BrainHack-AI 2026.”

According to the GTU Vice-Rector, the hackathon is another successful initiative of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, providing participants with an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience. As Professor Tamar Lominadze noted, students explored the modern capabilities of artificial intelligence through practical application and contributed to the development of innovative technological solutions.

“The Georgian Technical University continues to create an educational environment that enables students to apply modern technologies in practice. “BrainHack-AI 2026” is exactly such a project, once again demonstrating that Georgia possesses strong academic and professional potential in the field of artificial intelligence. It is especially noteworthy that the Hackathon brought together students from different universities in one collaborative space, fostering knowledge sharing, the exchange of experience, and the development of new professional connections.

Today’s results confirm that young people are ready to meet modern technological challenges and transform their ideas into real products. I congratulate all participants, winners, mentors, and organizers on the successful completion of the Hackathon. I am confident that BrainHack-AI will continue to serve as a platform where new ideas, strong teams, and innovative technological solutions are born.”

According to Professor Taliko Zhvania, Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems, the Georgian Technical University has been organizing Hackathons since 2022.

The first large-scale event, “Hackathon 2022 – IoT,” was held as part of the university’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Since then, the faculty has consistently promoted student-oriented practical initiatives, and BrainHack-AI 2026 represents a modern continuation of this tradition, bringing together young innovators in the field of artificial intelligence.

“It is especially important for us that students from both the Georgian Technical University and the country’s leading universities participated in the Hackathon. Collaboration in this format encourages the exchange of experience, strengthens professional connections, and creates a healthy competitive environment. During the eight-hour intensive session, participants presented interesting and practically valuable solutions, once again demonstrating that a new generation of young professionals is emerging in Georgia – one that is fully capable of addressing the technological challenges of the modern world. I would like to thank all participants, mentors, jury members, and partners. I congratulate the winners and wish every participant continued success.”
