“Become an entrepreneur” – a public lecture was held for students

The Georgian Technical University held a public lecture titled “Become an entrepreneur” for students in the Social Sciences and Business Technologies faculties, organized by the career development department of the educational process management service. Representatives of the National Agency of Public Registry of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia conducted the lecture. The meeting aimed to develop entrepreneurial thinking among students, raise awareness of starting a business, and share practical knowledge and experience.

The meeting was attended by Nino Barkaia, Deputy Chairperson of the National Agency of Public Registry; Jaba Jamagidze, Head of the Administrative Department; Nana Akhalashvili, Head of the Organizational Support Service; and Nino Meskhi, Head of the Business Registration Service within the Department for the Registration of Entrepreneurs and Legal Entities.

Professor Tamar Tsereteli, Vice-Rector of the Georgian Technical University, opened the event. As the Vice-Rector noted, such meetings allow students to gain practical information on starting a business, registering entrepreneurial activities, and the legal issues involved in the process.

“When a student develops a desire to start a business, they often don’t know where to begin, what procedures to follow, or whom to contact. That’s why today’s meeting is so important. We want young people not only to think about a business idea but also to know how to transform that idea into an actual venture. Engaging directly with representatives from the Public Registry allows them to get answers to practical questions and gain a clearer understanding of the opportunities associated with launching entrepreneurial activities. The university needs to foster such a direct connection between students and the professional environment.”

According to Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, Head of the Career Development Division within the GTU’s Academic Process Management Service, students need to familiarize themselves with the practical aspects of entrepreneurial activity at an early stage, explore ways to implement their own business ideas, and learn about the legal and administrative procedures required to launch a business. She noted that meeting with representatives from the Public Registry allows students to gain information directly from practitioners and better prepare for their professional careers.

During the public lecture, students received information directly from representatives of the National Agency of Public Registry on business registration procedures, entrepreneur status, and the requirements for commencing business activities.

The meeting also included a Q&A session, allowing students to get comprehensive answers to topics of interest.
