GTU’s German Partners and Students from Saarland University Explore the Production Process at “Nikora”

At the initiative of the Faculty of Business Technologies at the Georgian Technical University and organized by the Career Development Division of the Academic Process Management Service, students from the Saarland University of Applied Sciences (Saarbrücken, Germany), currently on a working visit to the university, toured the facilities of partner company “Nikora”.

The visit aimed to give students a firsthand look at the production process of Georgian goods and offer practical insights into the Georgian business environment. The guests, accompanied by university representatives – Professor Guguli Kurashvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Technologies, and Associate Professors Avtandil Adeishvili and Besik Sherazadishvili – from the Department of Public Administration and E-Business, had the opportunity to observe various stages of the production process and learn about the specific operations of this local company, as well as the process behind the creation of its products.

According to Associate Professor Nato Katamadze, Head of the Career Development Division within the Academic Process Management Service, the visit aimed to help students connect their theoretical knowledge with practical experience and better understand the operations of Georgian business organizations. Such educational initiatives deepen international academic cooperation, broaden students’ professional perspectives, and facilitate the sharing of knowledge about business environments in different countries.

“Our primary objective is to support our students’ employment and career advancement while considering their individual interests and professional development needs. To this end, we maintain ongoing communication with successful partner organizations in the labor-market, creating opportunities for students to bridge the gap between theory and practice and better understand the modern business environment.

To introduce German students to Georgia’s business sector, we chose to showcase “Nikora”, a successful Georgian company. During the visit, the guests explored the entire production cycle, from receiving raw materials to packaging finished products. The meeting included an interactive Q&A session, allowing the students to get comprehensive information on topics of interest. The visit was well received and generated strong interest among the guests.

I want to extend a special thank you to our hosts, “Nikora LLC”, specifically Konstantine Shatakishvili, General Manager of the “Nikora” brand, who provided the guests with detailed insights into the production process, its key characteristics, and the various stages of product development.

– Associate Professor Nato Katamadze
