An Open Competition Has Been Announced to Fill Scientific Positions
The Scientific Council of the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies of the Georgian Technical University Announces an Open Competition to Fill the Following Scientific Position:
- Chief Research Scientist Position – 1 Staff Unit
The competition will be held on March 16, 2026. The preliminary results of the competition will be published no later than March 16, 2026, by the конкурс commission, in a visible place and on the Institute’s website.
Statements/complaints regarding violations of the competition procedures will be accepted by the competition commission through March 19, 2026 (inclusive).
Additional information for those wishing to participate in the competition (the applicant’s questionnaire, application form, and the time and place of the interview) will be published on the Institute’s website.
II. Competition Requirements
Main Competition Conditions:
A candidate for the Chief Research Scientist position must hold a doctoral or equivalent academic degree and have at least 6 years of experience in scientific research activities.
The Chief Research Scientist is appointed for a term of 5 years.
Applicants wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) submit:
a) A properly completed and signed application and questionnaire (forms will be published on the Institute’s website), along with supporting documents verifying the information provided, such as diplomas, certificates, attestations, letters, references, etc. (originals and copies);
b) Document verifying scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
c) Document(s) verifying scientific research experience (tenure), certified by the relevant organization/institution with its official seal;
d) List of scientific and educational-methodological works, certified by the relevant institution/organization or a competent official of its structural unit with signature and seal (if applicable);
e) Identification document (original and photocopy);
f) Two photographs (3×4 cm);
g) Certificate of no criminal record for offenses against sexual freedom and inviolability, and certificate regarding deprivation of rights.
Note: Submission of these certificates is waived for individuals who have already submitted them to the University’s Human Resources Management and Administrative Services.
III. Competition Procedure
- The competition will be conducted in accordance with the Law of Georgia on Higher Education, the University Statute, and the “Procedure for the Recruitment of Scientific Staff at the Institute of Quantum Physics and Engineering Technologies”, which the applicants can review at the competition commission, as well as on the University’s and Institute’s websites.
- The competition commission will take into account the applicant’s qualifications and competence relevant to the position, including scientific-research, practical, and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience, and merits corresponding to the position’s profile. Additionally, the commission may consider the results of interviews conducted with the applicant(s).
- Decisions of the competition may be appealed in court in accordance with the applicable legislation.
