GTU Security and Fire Safety Personnel Awarded Professional Training Certificates
Eight employees of the Fire Safety Department of the Georgian Technical University’s Security and Safety Service were awarded certificates after successfully completing a specialized training course.
The course was designed to enhance participants’ professional knowledge and practical skills in fire safety management. During the training, employees studied modern fire prevention methods, emergency response procedures, evacuation planning, and the effective operation of fire protection systems.
According to Merab Baghaturia, Head of the GTU Department of Protection and Security, maintaining the highest safety standards for students, academic staff, and university employees is one of the institution’s top priorities. He emphasized that investing in the professional development of safety personnel is essential to creating a secure educational environment.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the “Georgian Fire Prevention Association” for its significant contribution to the professional retraining and qualification enhancement of our employees. It is extremely important for the university that personnel responsible for safety are highly qualified and equipped with modern knowledge and practical skills. Our university is home to a large academic community, making the safety of students and staff one of our highest priorities. This training program was implemented at the initiative of the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, who places special emphasis on maintaining high safety standards and supporting the continuous professional development of university employees.
The knowledge and experience gained through this course will significantly strengthen our department’s capacity for both fire prevention and rapid, effective emergency response. Professional and well-trained personnel are the foundation of any reliable safety system, and we will continue to invest in their education and development. In this process, the support of trusted partners such as the “Georgian Fire Prevention Association” is especially valuable.”
– Merab Baghaturia, Head of Department of Protection and Security
Representatives of the Security and Safety Service noted that the practical skills acquired during the training will enhance the university’s ability to minimize fire-related risks and respond efficiently to emergencies.
The Georgian Technical University plans to continue implementing professional retraining and qualification enhancement programs for employees working in the field of safety.
