Meeting Held at GTU with a Delegation from China’s International CORE Academy

The Georgian Technical University (GTU) hosted a delegation from China’s International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities. During the working meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for future scientific collaboration, prospects for implementing joint educational and research projects, and ways to further strengthen their partnership.

GTU Vice-Rector Professor Tamar Lominadze, Head of the Department of International Relations Tea Murvanidze, deans of the engineering and technology faculties, and academic staff introduced their international colleagues to the ongoing research and educational activities at the Georgian Technical University.

The delegation of scientists from China’s International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities was led by Professor Di Jiang, President of the Academy, Honorary Professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Metal Matrix Composites at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

During the meeting, the parties discussed successfully implemented projects, identified areas of mutual priority, and placed particular emphasis on the need for the active involvement of young scientists and students in ongoing research activities.

According to GTU Vice-Rector Professor Tamar Lominadze, the partnership between Georgian Technical University and China’s International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities will deepen scientific and research cooperation in engineering disciplines, enable the two sides to jointly introduce innovative approaches, and contribute to the development of academic programs at all three levels of higher education. This, in turn, represents an important prerequisite for advancing high-quality education and innovative research.

This gives us a strong foundation for ensuring that the partnership initiated with the International CORE Academy of China will be long-term and productive, generating tangible and meaningful outcomes for the scientific communities of both countries.”

Professor Di Jiang, President of China’s International CORE Academy, expressed his gratitude to the representatives of Georgian Technical University for their warm and professional hospitality. He emphasized that GTU possesses significant engineering, scientific, and educational potential, which provides a solid foundation for long-term, results-oriented, and mutually beneficial partnership. Professor Di Jiang expressed hope that the working meetings held in Tbilisi would play a pivotal role in fostering fruitful cooperation in the future.

As part of their working visit, members of the delegation from China’s International CORE Academy of Sciences and Humanities visited Georgian Technical University’s educational and research laboratories, which are equipped with modern technologies and advanced equipment. The guests also explored the rare collections and ongoing exhibitions at the Niko Muskhelishvili University Library.
