The Rector of GTU Presented Distinguished Employees with Gold Medals and Honorary Diplomas

The Rector of Georgian Technical University (GTU), Academician David Gurgenidze, presented honorary awards to university employees by decision of the Academic Council, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the University, the advancement of science, and the education and development of future generations.

GTU Gold Medals were awarded to Professor Ioseb Kirtskhalia of the Faculty of Construction and Professor Henry Kuprashvili of the Faculty of Law and International Relations. Honorary Diplomas were presented to Professor Nodar Machavariani of the Faculty of Mining and Geology and Sustainable Mountain Development and Merab Maisuradze, Chief Mechanical Engineer of the Mine Laboratory of the same faculty.

According to Academician David Gurgenidze, the contribution of researchers and educators who have devoted themselves to science, education, and the development of future generations with great dedication and commitment over the years is invaluable to the University. The Rector emphasized that it is a great honor for the University to recognize and appreciate their longstanding service and contributions.

That is why it is particularly gratifying that we have the opportunity to express our gratitude to them not only through words, but also by presenting these prestigious awards.”

It should be noted that the GTU Gold Medal, established on May 19, 2022, is awarded, upon the Rector’s nomination and by decision of the Academic Council, in recognition of outstanding contributions to Georgian Technical University. Since its establishment, the award has been presented to more than 80 scientists and researchers, including both Georgian and foreign citizens.
