GTU Students Complete Professional Internship in Germany with the Support of HiPP
From September 21 to October 21, two students completed a one-month professional internship in Germany. A memorandum of cooperation between the Georgian Technical University and the German company HiPP made this opportunity possible, with the support of Professor Klaus Hipp – a renowned German entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Honorary Doctor of the GTU.
The internship, held in the German town of Scheyern, included Elisabed Guntishvili, a graduate of the GTU International Design School, and Mariam Sulaberidze, a student from the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design.
The internship aimed to develop students’ professional skills, provide international experience, and help them realize their creative potential.
As part of the internship, students participated in the interior design and artistic decoration of a conference hall within the historic Benedictine monastery (Kloster Scheyern).
The project was unique because it let students work within a cultural heritage site with a centuries-old history – a setting where modern design approaches had to be applied with careful consideration for the historical environment and architectural legacy.
Over one month, the students worked on the artistic concept for the interior, the space’s aesthetic resolution, and individual design elements. This experience let them apply their theoretical knowledge within a real-world professional environment and gain insight into German professional practices.
The Office of Technologies and Grant Projects at the Georgian Technical University organized the students’ professional internship in Germany.
