GTU Rector congratulates Professor Vazha Papaskiri on his birthday on behalf of the university community

The Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, on behalf of the university community, congratulates Professor Vazha Papaskiri, Head of the GTU Niko Muskhelishvili University Library, on his birthday.

“Mr. Vazha, on behalf of the university community of the Georgian Technical University, I cordially and with special respect congratulate you on your 73rd birthday!

Your life and professional activities are closely connected with the development of Georgian education, science, and university culture. Over the years, you have served the Georgian Technical University, its students, professors, and scientific community with dignity. As the head of the Niko Muskhelishvili University Library, you are not only the caretaker and organizer of one of the most important educational spaces, but also the defender of the spiritual heritage that ensures the continuity of knowledge and the preservation of national educational traditions.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication and sense of civic responsibility during the challenging years when the Georgian state faced severe socio-economic hardships, and it was often impossible to pay salaries and pensions. It was then, thanks to your professionalism, perseverance, and selfless work together with the library staff, that it became possible to save the unique library fund, scientific literature, and one of the most important educational centers of the university – this was not only the fulfillment of professional duty, but also true civic heroism and a deed of national importance.

We are confident that your experience and vitality will continue to inspire many valuable contributions to our university and the broader Georgian academic community in the years ahead.

We wish you health, happiness, professional success, and many more fruitful years in the service of Georgian science and education.

With respect, on behalf of the university community”.

– Academician David Gurgenidze
