GTU Awarded 3 Stars in the QS Stars International Assessment and Ranked Among the Top 7.9% of Universities Worldwide


Georgian Technical University has successfully completed the rigorous international QS Stars audit and has been awarded an overall rating of 3 Stars, placing it in the “Good” category of the QS Stars rating system. The university’s results have been officially published on the QS Stars platform.

The assessment evaluated multiple aspects of the university’s performance. Georgian Technical University received the highest rating of 5 Stars (“Excellent”) in Academic Development and 4 Stars (“Very Good”) in Good Governance. In addition, according to the latest data from the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), GTU is ranked among the top 7.9% of universities worldwide.

According to Lela Chikovani, Deputy Head of the International Relations Department at Georgian Technical University, the QS Stars rating system evaluates universities across a broad range of criteria, including academic development, teaching quality, governance, internationalization, student experience, institutional effectiveness, and according to other important directions.

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the university received the highest possible 5-Star rating in Academic Development and a 4-Star rating in Good Governance. These results demonstrate the university’s commitment to international standards and modern quality assurance requirements. The QS Stars audit evaluates a wide range of institutional activities using objective international criteria, making this assessment especially valuable for both institutional development and international visibility. This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of our academic staff, administrative personnel, and students. It provides additional motivation to continue strengthening international cooperation, enhancing academic quality, and increasing the global recognition of our university.”

According to GTU Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the results represent important international recognition of the university’s efforts to align with global standards, promote institutional development, and continuously improve the quality of education; which further increases the competitiveness of the Georgian Technical University in both the national and international educational space.
