GTU and “Regional Healthcare Center” Sign Cooperation Memorandum
Students of Georgian Technical University will soon have the opportunity to develop practical skills and gain professional and research experience through internship programs at the “Regional Healthcare Center” organizations.
As part of its commitment to providing students with high-quality education and supporting their career development, Georgian Technical University continues to expand its network of industry partners. “The Regional Healthcare Center” is a large network organization, with which GTU has formalized its cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation. It was signed by GTU Vice-Rector Professor Tamar Tsereteli and “Regional Healthcare Center” Director Archil Mamaladze.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Tamar Tsereteli noted that the “Regional Healthcare Center, which operates 21 state-owned clinics across Georgia and employs approximately 1,300 people, also holds the exclusive mandate to provide healthcare services in the country’s high-mountainous regions. She emphasized that, in addition to medical professionals, the organization increasingly requires specialists in engineering, technology, and related scientific fields.
According to the Vice-Rector, the partnership aims to enhance engineering students’ career prospects and employment opportunities while establishing long-term cooperation that will promote innovation and support the development of highly qualified professionals.

Today, the healthcare sector is increasingly dependent on engineering solutions and advanced technologies. “The Regional Healthcare Center” is one of the country’s largest healthcare networks and is actively implementing modern technologies and innovative approaches. Consequently, alongside medical professionals, it requires specialists in chemistry, biomedical engineering, physics, chemical and environmental engineering, construction, energy engineering, architecture, logistics, information technology, and other technical fields. Who will successfully apply the knowledge and competencies acquired at the Georgian Technical University in practical activities and make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s healthcare system.

“Regional Healthcare Center” Director Archil Mamaladze emphasized that cooperation with a university renowned for its strong academic traditions and highly qualified graduates is of great importance to the organization. According to Mr. Mamaladze, the memorandum will enable the “Regional Healthcare Center” to involve talented and motivated engineering and technology students in practical activities while they are still pursuing their studies. He noted that integrating the innovative perspectives and modern competencies of young professionals into the organization’s work will contribute significantly to its continued development.
The memorandum signing ceremony was attended by the GTU deans of engineering and technology faculties, academic staff, students, and representatives of the “Regional Healthcare Center”. Following the signing, the parties discussed opportunities for student internships, practical training, joint research initiatives, and other areas of future cooperation to strengthen the link between higher education and the healthcare sector.
