International Conference – “Modern Challenges and Achievements in Information and Communication Technologies – 2026”

The fifth international scientific-practical conference, “Modern Challenges and Achievements in Information and Communication Technologies – 2026,” was held at Akaki Tsereteli State University in Kutaisi. The Georgian Technical University organized the event in co-organization with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, the Dresden University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and Akaki Tsereteli State University.

The conference—aimed at discussing modern trends, challenges, and achievements in information and communication technologies, sharing innovative ideas, and deepening international scientific cooperation—was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Control Systems at GTU. Professor Taliko Zhvania wished the participants success on behalf of GTU Rector Academician David Gurgenidze. In her address, the Dean emphasized the importance of international scientific cooperation, noting that such conferences facilitate the sharing of scientific expertise, the presentation of new ideas, and the strengthening of academic ties between universities.

The Dean highlighted the importance of international scientific cooperation and the role of such meetings in sharing knowledge and experience, presenting new ideas, and deepening academic ties within the field of information and communication technologies.

As Taliko Zhvania noted, the rapid development of information and communication technologies is one of the most significant defining factors of the modern world. Sharing knowledge accumulated in this field, discussing new scientific approaches, and fostering cooperation among universities across countries are particularly important—both for advancing scientific research and for implementing innovative solutions in practice.

“We are pleased that the international scientific-practical conference continues to evolve year by year, offering various universities the opportunity to host it. Last year, the conference was held in Batumi to mark the 90th anniversary of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, while this year Kutaisi Akaki Tsereteli State University is hosting it. This further underscores our academic partnership and our shared interest in deepening scientific cooperation.

Holding conferences in this format is particularly important, as it brings together professors, researchers, and specialists from various universities, creating opportunities to share scientific expertise, discuss new ideas, and establish joint research initiatives. Furthermore, such gatherings help strengthen enduring professional ties between universities and showcase Georgian higher education institutions within the international scientific community. Our goal is to deepen this collaboration further and transform the conference into a platform where academic dialogue translates into tangible scientific outcomes and future joint projects”.
