V. Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics announces a competition for scientific positions
The Scientific Council of the Vladimer Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics of the Georgian Technical University announces an open competition for scientific positions:
- Department of Applied Facial Recognition Systems: Researcher (1 staff unit);
- Department of Applied Facial Recognition Systems: Chief Researcher (0.5 staff unit);
- Laboratory of Thermo and Photochromic Structures: Senior Researcher (0.5 staff unit);
- Laboratory of Nanocomposites: Researcher (1 staff unit);
- Department of Optically Controlled Anisotropic Systems: Researcher (1 staff unit).
Applications will be accepted from June 19th to June 23rd, 2026, inclusive, from 10:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m., at the address: Tbilisi, Zurab Anjaparidze First Lane No. 6 (formerly Sandro Euli Street), Vladimer Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics, first floor, room No. 130, contact person, Giorgi Mumladze, tel.: 598 42 98 33.
Interviews with the candidate(s) selected for the vacant position by the Scientific Council of the Institute, and voting will be held on June 25th, 2026. The results will be announced by the Scientific Council immediately after the voting ends on June 25th and will be posted in a prominent place at the Institute and published on the Institute’s website.
Applications/complaints regarding violations of the competition rules will be accepted by the Scientific Council/Competition Commission until June 30th, 2026.
Additional information to participate in the competition (contestant’s form and application, time, and place of the competition) will be published on the institute’s website.
II. Competition conditions
Main conditions of the competition:
a) The position of Chief Researcher may be held by a person who has a Doctorate or equivalent academic degree, and at least 6 years of experience in scientific research activities;
b) The position of Researcher may be held by a person who has a Master’s or equivalent academic degree;
c) The position of Senior Researcher may be held by a person who has a Doctorate or equivalent academic degree.
A person will be elected to all listed scientific positions for a term of 5 years.
A person wishing to participate in the competition must personally (or through a representative) submit:
a) a duly completed and signed application and questionnaire (the forms will be published on the Institute’s website, as well as documentation confirming the information presented in them: diploma, certificate, reference, etc. (original and copy);
b) a document confirming a scientific/academic degree (original and copy);
c) a document confirming scientific research experience (experience) certified by the seal of the relevant organization/institution;
d) List of scientific and educational-methodical works, certified by the signature and seal of the competent person of the relevant institution/organization or its structural unit (if any);
e) Identity card (original and photocopy);
f) 2 photographs 3X4;
g) Certificate of conviction for committing a crime against sexual freedom and inviolability, and certificate of deprivation of rights.
Note: A person who has already submitted the aforementioned documents to the University’s Human Resources Management and Records Service is exempt from submitting references.
III. Competition Rules
- The competition will be held according to the Law of Georgia “On Higher Education”, the University Charter, and the “Rules for Hiring Scientific Personnel of the Vladimir Chavchanidze Institute of Cybernetics”, which the contestant will familiarize themselves with in the competition commission, on the university and institute’s websites.
- The competition commission will consider: the correspondence of the contestant’s qualifications and competence to the competitive position, including scientific research, practical and other activities, achievements, qualifications, experience and merits relevant to the profile of the competitive position; as well as (by decision of the Scientific Council/Competition Commission), the results of the interview conducted with the contestant(s).
- The results of the competition can be appealed in court, in accordance with the applicable legislation.
