GTU Students Developed the Interior Concept for a New Generation Store of “Corso Italia”
Two projects have been announced as winners of the Interior Design competition “Corso Italia – Next Gen” announced at the Georgian Technical University. The best recognized projects were created by two students: Tea Jeladze and Giorgi Chanidze, Lali Salukvadze and Guga Natsvlishvili.
According to the competition terms, students of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design developed the interior concept of the new generation store “Corso Italia”. The project was implemented by the Georgian Technical University in partnership with the company “ICR Trade”.
The best student works were presented at the award ceremony: drawings, sketches, and 3-dimensional visualization versions in color.
As the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design at the Georgian State University of Technology noted, such events, which require practical involvement and increased responsibility from students, significantly enhance the quality of the educational process. Professor Nugzar Khvedeliani thanked the management of “ICR Trade” for the fruitful cooperation and expressed his desire to continue the partnership.
“By participating in competitions, students turn their ideas, visions, and professional ambitions into real projects. The works presented within the framework of “Corso Italia – Next Gen” once again clearly showed us the creative potential of our students, the level of modern design thinking, and the responsibility with which young people approach real business tasks.
Events of this format significantly improve the quality of the educational process, as students directly get acquainted with the professional environment, learn to work with a specific brand, and consider the requirements of a real customer. This process is an invaluable experience for them, which will play an important role in their future professional activities.
Cooperation with business is especially important for us, as it establishes strong ties between the university and industries. I would like to thank the company “ICR Trade” for its trust and involvement. I am sure that the partnership will continue actively in the future and we will implement many more interesting, innovative, and student-oriented projects,” says Nugzar Khvedeliani.
On behalf of the Rector, Academician David Gurgenidze, the audience was welcomed by Zaza Buachidze, Head of the GTU Educational Process Management Service, who noted that “ICR Trade Group” has been added to the list of large partner companies of the Georgian Technical University. He said that this type of collaboration is important for the university and its students.
“Georgian Technical University is constantly striving to ensure that the educational process is in line with modern requirements. Such competitions allow us to make educational programs even more practically oriented and offer students an experience that goes beyond the classroom. The “Corso Italia – Next Gen” project clearly demonstrated how important it is to bring learning and the real work process closer together. Students learn to develop a concept from an idea, and then a finished visual solution, which is so important for the development of the youth as professionals. It is in such formats that the university acquires the function of a modern educational center that prepares future specialists to cope with real challenges,” notes Zaza Buachidze.
Kakha Khazaradze, founder of the company “ICR Trade”, expressed satisfaction with the results of the competition. The company’s director, Nani Andiashvili, thanked the professors and students of the Georgian Technical University for their active involvement in the event. As the company’s representatives noted, “ICR Trade Group” attaches great importance to holding competitions that provide students with the opportunity for creative realization and, at the same time, affect their career development.
