Gtu Rector – I Wish Success To The Participants Of The “Studfest” – Especially To The Students Of The Georgian Technical University

“By organizing such a large-scale festival as “Studfest-2026”, the state calls on young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle, to actively participate in sports, education, and cultural activities. This is the right message that contributes to the formation of a strong, healthy, and motivated generation. I would like to emphasize that the Georgian Technical University has always placed special importance on activating student life and the multifaceted development of its youth. That is why the active participation of our students in such large-scale events is very important. I wish success to all young people participating in the “Studfest”, especially to the students of the Georgian Technical University,” said the Rector of the Georgian Technical University, Academician David Gurgenidze, in connection with the opening event of “Studfest-2026”.

The delegation of the Georgian Technical University, led by the Rector, participated in the opening ceremony of the large-scale youth festival – “Studfest 2026”.

“Studfest 2026”, which will last for six months, envisages the organization and holding of sports tournaments between various higher educational institutions of Georgia. In parallel, a variety of cultural, educational, and volunteer activities are planned, aimed at increasing the involvement of young people, strengthening their social responsibility, and developing skills in various areas. The Georgian Technical University is actively participating in these events. GTU students will represent the university in both sports competitions and intellectual, creative, and public projects.

According to the rector, large-scale initiatives significantly contribute to the activation of student life, provide young people with a wide range of opportunities for self-realization, and strengthen cooperation and healthy competition between universities. According to Academician David Gurgenidze, it is particularly important that such projects simultaneously combine education and science, sports, public activity, student self-creation, and cultural activities, which creates a development-oriented youth environment in Georgia.

“Georgian Technical University is actively involved in “Studfest 2026”. Our students and student groups participate in both sports competitions and various creative, intellectual, and volunteer activities, which once again emphasizes the versatile potential of our youth. I wish the students success. I thank the Government of Georgia and, personally, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze for strengthening youth policy and supporting such large-scale projects. I express my gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth, personally Minister Givi Mikanadze, whose vision and direct involvement significantly contribute to the development of student initiatives and expanding the opportunities of young people. Special thanks to Tbilisi City Hall and Mayor Kakha Kaladze, whose support is very important in organizing youth, sports, and cultural events throughout the capital, and to Rustavi Mayor Nino Latsabidze for supporting the event. I would like to thank each and every student who is participating in this festival. Dear youth, your energy, hard work, and enthusiasm are the very force that strengthens the future of Georgia.”
